If I can stop one heart from breaking,
I shall not live in vain;
If I can ease one life the aching,
Or cool one pain,
Or help one fainting robin
Unto his nest again,
I shall not live in vain.

Not knowing when the dawn will come
I open every door.
Emily Dickinson
I feel my body
retreating
toward
 my soul’s island.
I am a ship lit
by swinging
chandeliers’
shimmering
fire
 inside.
My senses
are humming
with the color
of
 indigo
and
edges
of
pink.
Touch the center
 of
my hand,
my heart,
my tongue,
my thigh,
my belly,
my desire,
my life.
I run.
I inhale
wide
and
 rise as light
over
the earth.
I listen
for
your
breath.
Blue.
Coming.
