ALL MOTHER’S HEARTS

LEO_EASTER2014tulip MOTHER'S DAY 2014; CATHERINE L. JOHNSON;

Mothers

who bring and raise girls into the world PRAY and HOPE

that their girls’ lives WILL BE nurtured by MANY tender + fierce Mother’s hearts

throughout their BELOVED daughter’s life.

X
X
X
Women who will enter their daughter’s life encouraging them,
guiding them to prevail, to be resilient and to NEVER give up on themselves,
believing and demonstrating their FAITH in their daughter’s INTERNAL God-given talents.

that there will be MANY loving women will ENTER her daughter’s life
and who will facilitate her girl
to REACH up for the STARS; voice and LIVE her daughter’s TRUTH; to hold up an honest mirror as a life coach;
be WELCOMED with an OPEN heart and arms;
CELEBRATED by the CONTENT of HER daughter’s CHARACTER and
to LOVE and be LOVED for WHO her daughter IS!

her daughter, her girl, will NOT confined, labeled, boxed-in, excluded by social conventions for women,
that is defined and practiced by the capriciousness of society’s dominant culture and/or relational systems
that upholds a discriminating filter of WHO will be upheld and nurtured,
and
WHO will NOT.

The worst pain a Mother experiences is witnessing their children’s anguish.

Mother's Day 2014 insert; Catherine L. Johnson;

I am not a Mother.

X
X
X
The mechanics of my body within the nest Mother’s womb was ruptured,
and the ensuing reconstructive surgeries with the associated x-ray radiation
denied me of that special joy and the guardian responsibility
of being the constant gardener of my own children.
X
X
X
Each of my 42 surgeries and the relentless hours of physical therapy,
I drew strength from my Mother’s determination and dream
that I would enter and walk in the world!
X
X
X
I was NOT considered the “beautiful” daughter.
X
X
X
I lived the first 10 years in the hospital- the critical time of bonding with your “tribe”.
I was casted in plaster, horizontal wrapped in white linen
and/or
walked with crutches;
I was heavily scarred from hip to foot
and
I walked/walk with a pronounced limp.
X
X
X
Yet, I am very fit!
My decision.
I love riddles/contradictions!

My beloved Dr. Mark Coventry, Mayo Clinic, would look at my x-rays and SEE my spirit.
I chose to follow his vision as my blueprint.
X
X
X
X
X
My Mother called me her “sparkly” daughter.
I believed her and chose to follow her vision of me.
X
X
X
X
X
I would experience bullying, exclusion, mockery and disdain.
Terrible, and I had to learn I did NOT deserve it.
X
X
X
X
X
I was BLESSED with MANY fierce, passionate, tender, courageous women
who ENTERED
my life with JOY!

These AMAZING GRACE women

were MY HURRICANE LAMPS.

breaking through and creating NEW visions and templates of what a female is!

The year I had a total hip replacement and created Catherine’s Courageous Compassion Circle.
My Dr. Rod Peterson said he absolutely would NOT do the surgery without knowing WHO would care for me. I would have to lie back at 120 degrees for 8 weeks!

CARRIE JO AND JOE CHANDLEE @ MY PRIVATE RHYTHM SOLO EXHIBITION 2010; CATHERINE L. JOHNSON;The late Carrie Jo Chandlee (with Joe), far right,

at the opening of my PRIVATE RHYTMN exhibition, 2010.

From the time I met Carrie Jo as a young girl, SHE could SEE me and CALLED out the LIGHT within me.
Her FAITH in me, her beautiful heart and her naming a spade a spade was the clapping for my internal Tinkerbelle.

I have nurtured MANY girls in their chrysalis.

X

I ENTER girls’ lives because THEIR Mother’s decided

I would be a template of courage, conviction, compassion and LOVE for them,

and/or I have met girls and entered their lives without knowing their Mothers.

Thank you to the Mother’s who brought their girls to me,

WOMEN + GIRLS, PLEASE WATCH OUR FIRST LADY SPEAK OUT ON THE TERRORIST ABDUCTION OF GIRLS IN NIGERIA.
Mrs. Obama mentioned Malala Yousafzai, the Pakistani teenager who survived a gunshot to the head as she traveled to school in 2012.
Malala has become an outspoken advocate for the rights of ALL girls to get an education.
