ON 14 NOVEMBER NIGHT, VICKIE BURGETT, LIGHTING DESIGNER AND FRIEND,
AND I MET ON WABASHA STREET.
I HAD JUST BEEN TO THE “INK SPOT”,
A ONE OF A KIND PRINTING PLACE FOR ARTISTS/DESIGNERS,
I WAS PURSUING  THE IDEA TO ORGANIZE A “PRINTING”
-LOWERTOWN ARTISTS CREATING POSTERS FOR THE PUBLIC TO SIGN,
AFFIXED TO THE SHOP’S WINDOWS,
AS A TESTAMENT OF OUR SOLIDARITY WITH PARIS,
FOR FRANCE.

VICKIE + I WERE IN DIALOGUE ABOUT THE NEED FOR OUR CITY,
THE CAPITOL CITY,
TO SHOW SOLIDARITY WITH FRANCE AFTER THE TERRORIST ATTACKS IN PARIS.
VICKIE AGREED.
SHE HAD JUST FINISHED COMPOSING THE LIGHTING AT THE AMSTERDAM FOR A CLASSICAL VIOLINIST.
WE TALKED ABOUT HOW THE UPCOMING MULTI-MEDIA EXHIBIT
HUMANLY POSSIBLE: THE EMPATHY EXHIBITION” @ INSTINCT ART GALLERY
http://www.instinctmpls.com/upcoming/
WHERE SEVERAL OF MY WORKS CREATED FROM 2005 TO PRESENT WILL BE FEATURED,
HAS BECOME MORE RELEVANT AND HAS GREATER CURRENCY/IMPACT
IN CONTEXT OF THE HORROR OF PARIS THE NIGHT BEFORE:
EMPATHY-HUMANLY POSSIBLE.

TONIGHT, I WALKED BACK TO MY LOFT,
AND, VICKIE  HAD CREATED A POIGNANT + POWERFUL LIGHT INSTALLATION
ON OUR BUILDING, THE NORTHERN WAREHOUSE, 308 PRINCE STREET, ST. PAUL.
SHOWN ABOVE.
THE COUER/COURAGE BRILLIANT COLORS OF FRANCE EMBLAZONED
ON OUR HARBOR OF CREATIVITY.

X

I  IMMEDIATELY CALLED HER AND ASKED: YOU?!
SHE ANSWERED: YES!

X

IT WAS UP FOR ONLY A FEW HOURS
– BEAUTY, LIKE TRAGEDY, CAN OCCUR IN MOMENTS -AND, ITS MARK IS FOREVER.

X

THE ENERGY OF SOLIDARITY WAS MADE CLEAR!

THANK YOU VICKIE!

HUMANLY POSSIBLE: THE EMPATHY EXHIBITION  @ INSTINCT
is relevant and its currency
has risen exponentially due to the horrific murders in Paris.
Fear/hate devours our humanity.
The killings triggered an ocean of solidarity, empathy, and calls for accountability
—but, also triggers the risk of an unreasoned backlash that will compound the tragedy
– suffered by Paris, Beirut and any human who is deemed not human and murdered.
Hate cannot defeat hate.
