PLEASE NOTE THE COLOR,
THE “CALLING OUT” OF THE GOLDEN RULE
X
This concept can be explained from the perspective
of psychology, philosophy, sociology and religion.
X
Psychologically,
it involves a person empathizing with others.
X
Philosophically,
it involves a person perceiving their neighbor as also an “I” or “self”.
X
Sociologically,
this principle is applicable between individuals, between groups,
and also between individuals and groups.
(For example, a person living by this rule treats ALL people with consideration,
NOT just members of his or her in-group.)
X
Religions
figure prominently in the history
of the concept of the
GOLDEN RULE.

During a podcast taped last week,
just days after the mass killings at an African-American church in Charleston, S.C.,
President Obama said the legacies of slavery
and Jim Crow too often remain in the nation’s DNA.
x
x
“Racism — we are NOT cured of it,”
he said at one point.
“And it’s NOT just a matter of it not being polite to say ‘nigger’ in public.”
He added:
“That’s NOT the measure of whether racism still exists or not,”
“It’s NOT just a matter of overt discrimination.
Societies don’t, overnight,
completely erase everything that happened 200 to 300 years prior.”

PROFILES OF THE MASSACRED VICTIMS-
ALL WERE PRESENT AT A BIBLE STUDY/ PRAYER MEETING
INCLUDING THE DEPRAVED MURDERER.
X
X
I can’t imagine the searing horror/screaming in the last moments of their lives
-someone they had welcomed into their church’s Bible study/prayer meeting-
NOT knowing this “guest” had a depraved/diabolic racist agenda,
steeped and ignited in a very disturbed mind
AND he possessed both a lethal gun and combustible hatred in both a place of worship
and a time of prayer.
Tragic adomination.
X
X
It is critical to address the unmet needs of those who suffer
from biochemical imbalances in the brain coupled with
the ease of acquiring lethal weapons to resolve how an individual’s deranged mind
twisted by hatred perceives the world.
It is imperative to root out and break the myth of intolerance.
NO more going down the rabbit hole and deny this pervasive societal blindness of racism
that stews, cultivates and ripens in a culture that is known worldwide to kill each other.
Tragic denial.
X
A gun given by a Father as a “birthday present” to his 21 year old son
– a son, whose racist views were clearly known/announced
by his clothing-sewn patches of apartheid,
and a Confederate flag chosen to mark his car license
was a mentally distressed man with an internal explosive and a timed fuse in his heart.
Tragic ignorance or complicity, Dad.
x
x
What is our American society’s accountability?
The continuous societal DENIAL of the skewering of perceptions
of those who are mentally imbalanced and nurture and harvest hate in their hearts
and absence of foresight of guns in their hands is astounding.
Tragic indifference and/or deliberate denial.
The county coroner has identified the nine victims of the Charleston church shooting.
They ranged in age from 26 to 87, and include a librarian, a legislator and several ministers.
