The elevator in my building,
Artspace’s The Northern Warehouse,
has been down
for
9
days.
My recent reconstructive surgery prohibits me taking the 5 flights of steps
to
go
OUTSIDE.
Feeling
TRAPPED, HOSTAGE, IMPRISONED
with my free will denied
is
terrible, difficult, challenging.

I must practice MY freedom exodus flights in MY mind’s eye:
I slowly lift
open
the large window in my loft
so I can feel
the thrill of the heaven’s wind exhaling
the soft blue of the sky.
My soul escapes:
my body, my cherished wings billow
out from the tight coil
– RELEASED
and
I fly, flying
soaring.
Calming me.
