The silver crescent moon shines bright.
Silver, silver crescent moon smiles light.
The silver crescent moon sees you day and night.
Silver crescent moon, up so high, sings to you in the starlight.

You are wrapped in love’s kind warmth tonight.
I kiss your soft cheeks, hands and feet to your smiling delight.
You feel loved and safe – cuddled and cradled in my arms tight.
I wrap your sweet body, tenderly, in my arms- by candlelight.

Hush Hush Hush dear little one Hush Hush

The moon knows your name in the deep dark blue of midnight.
The stars know your name in the soft blue evening of twilight.
The sun knows your name in the shining yellow dawn of daylight.
I know your name ALL through and through the day and night.

Hush Hush Hush dear little one Hush Hush

The silver moon and shiny stars sing, dear little one, time to sleep.
The trees’ branches hold thousands of nests for little birds to sleep.
The Earth we stand on in the day is a gift of a nighttime bed to sleep.
My heart is your moon and my arms are your nests to sleep.

I /ThoU- a lullaby for a lover
X
Come to me with your coal and diamonds:
with your armor and secrets;
with your sweet water;
with the vast blue sky in your mouth and ear;
with your worn and eternal humanity; and
with your desire to open your blood
to love.
X
Come to me with your root and veins:
in mud and debris;
in fear and bitterness;
in uncertainty and tears;
in shreds and shame; and
in belief and faith
to love.
X
Come to me with your hands open:
to breathe;
to fall;
to rise;
to break open; and
to speak and sing
to love.
X
Come to me with touch and a soft candle:
for no language;
for music;
for unbound universes;
for unmade bed cathedrals; and
for joy
to love.
X
Come to me to release the divinity:
of all the colors and tastes and sounds of true blue;
of once excruciating scars;
now of nourishing and unspeakable sex;
of gentle caress; and
of being found
to love.
X
As a gospel song of freedom,
I will respond the same
for you.
